What Does the Rhodes Scholarship Cover?

Costs Covered by the Scholarship

  • Oxford University Course Fees: The scholarship covers the full course fees.
  • Annual Stipend: For the 2023/24 academic year, the stipend is £19,092 per annum (£1,591 per month), which Scholars use to cover all living expenses, including accommodation. Note that this amount is not sufficient to cover partners or dependents.

Key Documents Required

  1. Birth Certificate: Confirming you meet the age criterion.
  2. Valid NADRA Issued CNIC or Passport: Issued by the Government of Pakistan.
  3. Official Transcript: From the college or university where you are studying or have studied, showing grades achieved to date. All evidence must be formally certified by the Registrar or another responsible officer of the School, College, or University.
  4. Matriculation Result Sheet and Higher Secondary School Result Sheet: Formally certified by the School, College, or University. This includes Ordinary Levels Statement of Result and Advanced Levels Statement of Result.
  5. Curriculum Vitae (CV): Include specific details about academic qualifications, prizes, scholarships, positions of leadership, employment positions, involvement in student, voluntary, community, or political activities, and any cultural, musical, or sporting accomplishments. The CV should not exceed two A4 pages in length, with a 12pt font size.

  7. Academic Statement: No more than 350 words. For more detail, refer to the Information for Candidates.
  8. Four Referees:
    • Three academic referees
    • One character referee

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality/Citizenship: You must be a citizen of Pakistan, holding a Pakistani passport.
  • Education/Residency: You must have undertaken formal study at an educational institution in Pakistan for a minimum of 4 of the last 10 years and have either:
    • Completed a school or college leaving exam (Intermediate, A-level, or equivalent) at a school or college in Pakistan, or
    • Received or will receive an undergraduate degree at a university in Pakistan.
  • Age: You must meet one of the following criteria:
    • Aged 18-23 on 1st October 2024 (i.e., born after 1 October 2000 and before 2 October 2006).
    • For older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual, aged under 27 on 1st October 2024 (i.e., born after 1 October 1997) and have completed their first undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2023.
