The Aga Khan Foundation
International Scholarships are available for international students aiming to
pursue master’s or PhD degrees at any prestigious university, except those in
the UK, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, Italy, Norway, and
Ireland.
Each year, the Aga Khan Foundation
offers a limited number of scholarships for postgraduate studies to exceptional
students from selected developing countries who lack alternative financial
resources. These scholarships aim to cultivate effective scholars and leaders,
preparing them for roles primarily within the AKDN. Scholarships are awarded on
a 50% grant and 50% loan basis through a competitive application process held
annually in June or July.
While the Foundation prioritizes
applications for master’s programs, it will consider PhD applications only for
outstanding candidates who are highly recommended by their professors and
require a PhD for their career goals (academic or research-focused).
Please note that applications for
short-term courses are not accepted, nor are applications from students who
have already begun their studies.
